A web log, or blog, is a personal web page allowing an easy method of entering text, images and other features, thus creating a log of the owner’s views and opinions. It is accessible to the owner wherever they are, thereby making it one of the most popular online developments today.  The neat thing about a blog is that it is designed to be shared with as many people as possible, making it ideal for sharing business opportunities.

The following 5 steps will help explain how to get started blogging.

1.         Sign-up for a weblog account. The easiest way of blogging is having access to the different free blog publishing sites.  You can find them by typing ‘weblogs’ or ‘blogs’ into a search engine.  Most blogs are normally free and provide you with all the publishing tools needed to create your blog.

2.         Choose a name for your blog. To give your blogging site an interesting title, using pseudonyms that most people use is encouraged. You should use a name that is easy to remember and that represents what you are trying to convey with your blog.

3.         Create a weblog template. This is not a problem because the blog publishing site made this very easy. Ranges of templates to get you up and running as quickly and easily as possible are provided, however, creating your own template is another option to choose from.

4.         Start blogging. You can start writing after the template has been chosen. The fun part is that you can write anything that comes to mind. You can write about your day, your experiences, your life, or you business.  Just about anything is acceptable as long as it doesn’t violate your terms of service.

5.         Don’t just write.  Good blogs contain good content.  You don’t necessarily have to do all the writing yourself.  You can provide links to other sites and blogs to create more content for your blog, but that is a subject for another entry.
